Finding interference, people are supposed to be able to differentiate. It's the same thing with orbs and pictures. People see dust and scream ghosts. I am am confused as to why this model only allows FM and not AM though. I believe the makers genuinely want people to hear things with FM interference ( we have a huge struggle with Lady Gaga). I personally max out the speed, and have not heard anything valid on this yet. My my personal favorite tool is tests. The shave and the haircut knocking test. I also put a ping pong ball in a necklace, with a static cam set on it. Can you think of any other valid tests an investigator could conduct?Forum: Investigation of a Jail - What is Real Evidence?Posted:3/7/2014 11:15:16 AMI also think that equipment companies are setting the standards too by what they are throwing out there. For example: whoever created the ovilus just throws a machine out there and labels it ghost hunter? So it must be real... Who should really regulate though?Forum: Investigation of a Jail - What is Real Evidence?Posted:3/7/2014 9:56:38 AMIt's funny that you talk about standards. My group was actually approached by a psychic group in regards to becoming certified through them as a legitimate paranormal group. I think that at this point, the industry standard is how much you have been on TV (taps for example, or ghost hunters). After that, local channels. Sadly, I personally am starting to agree with you that the equipment out there works great when it's all in conjunction with one another, but an EMF reader means little going off. And honestly, unless you have a camera on the meter, how legitimate are the results? How many times do you see readings in reports of investigations, or just the words, "emf spikes". My group was actually forced to get insurance early on. And like you said, I think insurance makes the group credible. We have been to several museums that never required insurance (of you check out the website the jail was actually a museum as well as the May-Stringer house). The fact that these places have priceless artifacts that could be broken and lost forever is kind of startling. Ironically, it was a graveyard that required us to have a million dollar policy. About $300 a year in FLORIDA.Forum: Investigation of a Jail - What is Real Evidence?Posted:3/7/2014 1:17:30 AMMy Paranormal Group went and investigated an old jail. Here is the ink to the video of the evidence we found the night of (only 10 or so minutes). What do you think constitutes as good evidence? Does an Ovilus count? A spirit box? To be honest, an Ovilus tends to throw out words and people can make up their own stories of what happens. Cameras catch dust that people claim are orbs. Spirit boxes have glimpses of radio channels that people think are ghosts. EMF detectors are set off by power lines, breaker boxes, etc. What is real good evidence?Forum: Why Do Demons Choke?Posted:1/29/2014 12:10:01 AMIn regards to an article, Strange Awakenings - Sometimes the Pressure is Just Too Much." Does anyone have an opinion on this? What causes the crazy night scenes out of no where? In my experience, people do not just pick up a demon on the street. Yet, some stories I have come into contact with, almost seem to be hereditary - passed on from one family member to the next. Is this even possible?News Link: Devils Due..A Review's wallPosted:1/27/2014 2:41:52 PM The movie sucked!Forum: What Every Investigator Should Know - The Five Stages of Possession.Posted:1/27/2014 2:41:10 PMHave you heard of the rule of 3? That if you ask a demon 3 times, the same question, it must give you the truth in the third answer?Forum: What Every Investigator Should Know - The Five Stages of Possession.Posted:1/26/2014 8:02:30 PMI would imagine it all has to do with faith and a guideline of spirit laws. I spoke with a medium once, who said that there are certain guidelines spirits have to follow, and as long as you know your place, as a living being, there is great power in that.Forum: What Every Investigator Should Know - The Five Stages of Possession.Posted:1/25/2014 10:39:48 PMI definitely see your point, I just took a look over Jeff's article on Geometry. Not stuff you hear about a lot.
