What I was getting at is; when you depend on subjective feeling and intuition, you run a good risk of deluding yourself about the nature of things. Some people have to be wrong. They "know" that their version of things is correct, but they are wrong. They base all sorts of actions and decisions on beliefs that are not true. It seems to me that the best way to gaurd against that problem is to avoid basing our actions and decisions on metaphysical beliefs, such as souls.
