Power of Suggestion.

After reading his article, I thought it was an interesting idea to keep members of investigations in the dark about the background on places. However, I have run into several issues, including: 1) people are unwilling to go to an unknown destination 2) by providing people with a name, everything is very google-able unless it is an original investigation.

The article basically says that by only having a few members of your team with knowledge of a location, that you are getting a better and more fair feel for a place. When everyone knows the location, they are going to see what they should see - hence the power of suggestion.

How has suggestion played a part in your investigations? I can remember going out with a group once (a long time ago), and somebody passed wind. Everyone in the group started talking about how they were smelling sulfur and that there must be a demon present. The power of suggestion, especially in the paranormal world, is really influential. Considering that the paranormal world thrives on faith, everyone is ready to believe in something.

So somebody farted and the smell was considered demonic...yeah It could have been me.

Well Jax, you are what you eat. Tell someone a place is haunted and they will never look at the same again. Of course just being an investigator creates suggestion. Sometimes the suggestion is so strong it manifests itself from the mind of the observer. Hitler was good at suggestion.

That's horrible! I wouldn't suggest that if I were you. I'd get general Tso's chicken instead.

Panda say, No MSG. Who knows what you are getting at some of these other Chinese restaurants. I'm a bigger fan of Japanese, if you can find a place that deals in it.
